So when you’re pregnant, it can seem impossible to keep up with your workouts and can even seem dangerous.  Well, here’s the good news. You can workout when you’re pregnant. The real question is finding safe workouts for pregnancy, and I’m here to help! Below, I’ve compiled a checklist of safety factors you should consider before beginning a workout routine while pregnant, and we’ve even compiled a list of great options for you.

HealthyHer Safe Pregnancy Workout Checklist.

  • Your workout should be low impact.

  • Your workouts should not last too long, keep it around 30 minutes.

  • Your workout should not require quick, dangerous movements.

  • If you start to feel pain in or around your belly, stop immediately and ask your doctor.

  • Your workouts should make you feel better during pregnancy, not worse.

  • You should not lift weights while pregnant!

  • Your fitness program should use your body as a tool.

  • Unless told otherwise, you should not be trying to lose weight while pregnancy. Doctors will occasionally advise this for obese patients, but seek medical assistance prior to doing so.
